Dunlop's 300 gets updated with Aerogel technology and impresses us as the best iteration of the 300 yet. The Aerogel material is featured at ‘four corners’ of the hoop, for improved power without adding weight. At 3 & 9, the M-FiL fibers are retained for improved ball feel. From all areas of the court the Aerogel 300 offers a more maneuverable feel compared to the previous M-FiL 300, the Aerogel 300 swings with a similar weight to the previous Muscle Weave and Hot Melt versions. Our TW playtesters found easy access to faster swing speeds from the baseline, while also finding the racquet to feel faster at net compared to the M-FiL 300. The response off the stringbed feels very solid and clean. A high level of comfort impressed us from all areas of the court, yet we still found plenty of feel to allow for a very connected sense between player and ball. The 98sq. inch headsize provides plenty of real estate for the competitive club/league player to rip shots from all areas of the court, while the open, 16/19 string pattern allows easy access to spin and good ball speed off the stringbed. A good option for those seeking a controlled response from a lighter racquet, the Aerogel 300 makes an attractive choice for a variety of playing styles at the 4.0+ level.
